The Red Magnetic Dragon – a New 13 day Wavespell in the Mayan Sacred Calendar 25/3/2025 What does it mean and What’s in store for us?

Finding that nirvana of stillness in the high energy influx of eclipse season is not an easy challenge to accomplish. As we pivot between the New Moon in Aries rapidly approaching and a Solar Eclipse on 29th march, the final one of a set of six eclipses along the Aries-Libra axis, we crave the peace and stillness that a Red Magnetic Dragon potentially brings with it.

For centuries Dragons have woven themselves into the fabric of human storytelling. Both mythical and magical, powerful and unpredictable, for many cultures they represent the intensity of the sun itself, carrying within them the fire energy and light and life of the sun. In the Mayan Sacred calendar The Red Dragon wave symbolizes primal energy and the energy of the Mother as nurturer. There is a kind of ‘primal trust’ that exists between a mother and her offspring in both the human and animal kingdom. Just like the inherent character of the dragon itself, nature can be both awe inspiring and terrifying, both destructive and protective at the exact same time – imagine the shelter a majestic tree offers in the intensity of a storm or the warmth of a hollowed-out cave in the austerity of winter.  And it’s really quite that simple. All the while what this energy asks – no demands from us, is an unspoken need for faith.

This next 13 day wave demands your faith and trust, there may be times when you are forced to make choices, moment by moment, from a place where there are no guarantees and it will feel like staring into a dark unknowable void with no clue of what might spring forth from that darkness. Trust your steering mechanism, which is and always has been, your heart-knowing. The benevolent universe as our mother birthed us from her womb; receive nourishment from her primordial depths for she seeks not to harm us, but offer us protection.

Look at the image in the picture. A majestic dragon sits almost ‘coil like’ in a state of peaceful serenity, eyes closed, content with her own inner repertoire, there is not a hint of aggression or urgency in her demeanour; she is as calm and serene as the water lilies that float besides.

We are all moving on a path of awakening and through a time of manifesting our highest potential. You are attracting to yourself and surrounding yourself with those others who are mindfully attuned and on your frequency level. Look into your life and clear away the last muddy residues from those times when you have knowingly placed low expectations on yourself or undermined your own value or sense of worth. There is no place for this lack of worthiness in a dragon wave. Primal trust implies that there are no mistakes and no victims, only lessons, learning and growth on this fascinating journey we call life. Sometimes it’s perfectly okay to be ‘with the mystery’, we don’t have to have all the answers, this is an unfolding story toward wholeness and you are turning new pages.

When we begin to see ourselves as part of the ‘inseparable whole’, our challenges will diminish. We begin to navigate our emotional waves with grace and ease. In doing so, all the interlinked places, people, times and events begin to connect through the etheric threads that weave throughout our lives, just like the beautiful ‘spiral’ patterns you see here on the dragon’s skin. Becoming aware of our own past patterns takes us a step further towards our own self-healing and ability to change our perception and viewpoint on many things that we once held firm. Long-held beliefs that challenge the mainstream narrative come into play during this wavespell. Receive and embrace with an open mind, because flexibility and integrity are ‘key’. We don’t need to explain ourselves to others to prove our worth, sometimes we just know what we know.

In this wave, you may experience some ‘light bulb’ moments when you realise the sum of everything, all your moments of joy and despair, everything you have been through has brought you to this place. You may find yourself saying; “I knew that…but how could I have known!” This is a wave to embrace the self-nurture that comes with finding peace for oneself, a time to work on the ‘being-ness’ rather than being caught up in the ‘doing’ and the busyness of our everyday lives. Dragon energy asks to be still from time to time, to just be. Learn to embrace the depth of receptivity that comes with just ‘being’. Find a relationship – with Self.

Retreats, prayer-full meditations, visits to sacred sites, mindful gardening, creating for creativity’s sake are all highlighted in this wavespell. Find places on the earth that are uplifting and exhilarating to visit, yet peaceful at the same time, like a waterfall, a running spring, a sacred site, a walk in the woods at daybreak or watching the sun set on a deserted beach. These places are in abundance, no matter where you reside, we just need to look for them.

Above all in the next thirteen days, whilst we navigate the turbulent planetary energies, take note of the wisdom the Mayan cosmology brings us … and be tender with yourself.
