THE CRYSTALS - A LIFELONG PASSION
I have nurtured a passion for the Crystals for many many years and like many of you drawn to this site been fascinated by their beauty, lustre and energetic make-up!
Just in case you didn't know already, crystals are formed deep within the earth from three-dimensional repeating patterns of atoms and molecules and just like us a crystal has its own unique energy. Crystals are of a mineral composition, their external appearance fluctuating and dependent upon their natural environment and the conditions under which they grow. Some take on strange, irregular shapes, some stay tiny and others grow extremely large, naturally developing over thousands of years. Whatever their shape and size, there is no disputing their obvious fascination and beauty!
The opinions I express of course regarding a crystal’s individual 'curative' powers are simply my own and as previously said are not supported by medical evidence from a GP or a Health Practitioner. All I can tell you is how they have helped me personally and from listening to what my customers tell me about the numerous ways the crystals have also helped them…physically, mentally and emotionally. If you consider that they are resonating in perfect harmony with the universe, (and it is us who are out of balance), so the placing of a crystal on the chakra and nearest location to the part of the body that needs healing, will bring the body back into natural alignment and balance. In a sense they fuel the body's own healing mechanisms to restore health and harmony.
I will give you a brief example. A man in his late seventies came into my shop asking for a small piece of Labradorite. I said to him; “might I ask what it is for Sir?” to which he replied that he had recently undergone a cataract operation in both eyes, the one had healed no problem, but the other had given him difficulty and seemed very reluctant to heal. He had heard of Labradorites’ ability to assist eye surgery. Fortunately I had two lovely, small and flat ‘disk shaped’ pebbles which were ‘lightweight’ enough to be placed on the eyelids. He seemed happy and went away, ready, willing and open minded enough to try them out.
Three weeks later, the man came back into my shop in an ecstatic mood! He had lain each morning and night for about twenty minutes with the crystals on his eyelids and lo and behold, the infection had cleared up in the ‘difficult’ eye and his eyesight in both eyes following the operation was fully recovered and better than ever! It made my heart swell! He had trusted in the properties of the crystal enough to bring heart and mind into alignment and let the healing take place!
So all I would urge you to do where the crystals are concerned is this …’Think with the heart and feel with the mind’! Experiment with them, you cannot possibly create a physical problem (where there wasn’t one in the first place) or indeed worsen one by working with the crystals.
Most people who are ‘sensitive’ to the stones or crystals when holding them will report either a feeling of ‘tingling’ in their hands or a sense of increased warmth. This isn’t the case for everyone of course, sometimes it is simply your ‘intuition’ that drives you towards a crystal, it keeps popping into your head, you even ‘see’ it in your mind’s eye and you simply cannot rest until you have bought it! In a way this is the crystal calling to you and telling you that it has something to offer you in your life.
There are an array of different stones with different properties and meanings and sometimes it can feel overwhelming.
So where do you even start?
My advice always is ‘what crystal is drawing you?’ Maybe it is the colour vibration that resonates with you, for example the soft and delicate pink of Rose Quartz. Everyone who likes Rose Quartz rarely disputes that simply carrying it around, has a ‘calming effect’ on their body’s energetic system. It speaks to our heart centre, we associate pink with the colour of love and compassion, so it emanates a gentle embracing energy. We can turn to Rose Quartz when we are feeling sad or vulnerable or have experienced loss in our lives… it helps the tears to flow and the healing to take place.
A personal Favourite...
Lapis Lazuli on the other hand holds a different power entirely! The original gemstone of the ancient Egyptians, lapis is steeped in history and even its resplendent and royal azure blue colour reminds us of the gods! Lapis lazuli can be used for psychic development for example as it is noted for its mind expanding properties and its ability to attune to our intuition. It is one of my personal favourites, I wear it often and it graces the bookshelves of my home! A funny story however attached to my early relationship with this gorgeous stone goes as follows …
Many years ago in the early stages of my spiritual development and when I was a novice where the crystals were concerned I once slept with a piece of Lapis Lazuli under my pillow – believing it would assist my ‘intuitive’ abilities! This is something I have never repeated since! Given that it is noted for its powerful ability to expand the third eye chakra (the brow), I certainly did not sleep well and had a two day headache following this experiment! Not a stone to have on the bedside table, but certainly one that will assist awareness through meditation and the opening up of consciousness levels. It was certainly a lesson in ‘horses for courses’!
Choosing crystals by colour...
You can learn much from a stone because of its colour, which holds a meaning and vibration in itself. We often associate orange with dynamism or red with action. When you hold a piece of Carnelian (deep orange), you can feel its energising properties. The red stones such as Red Jasper, Poppy Jasper, Rubellite and Garnet are wonderful stones for kick starting a project as they can help you turn goals into reality. The white stones such as Clear Quartz, White Howlite, Calcite and Selenite carry a ‘lighter’ vibration and are thought of as transforming and inspirational crystals. They can assist when we are faced with change in our lives or when we need to see the heart of a situation more clearly. It’s also not hard to see the beauty of nature and Gaia herself reflected in the green stones such as Aventurine, Malachite, Fluorite and Serpentine. Nature follows a delicate rhythmic cycle of disintegration and renewal and the green stones teach us to honour this cycle in ourselves as well as seek balance and harmony in our lives.
‘Reading’ the crystals and understanding their power to assist comes with time and practice. You might want to select a stone that matches your birthdate and go from there… Alternatively just beginning with a small collection of polished stones or rough cut crystals to have on a special dish in your home space can be a perfect start. You may begin to feel a lightness within your being that you can’t quite put your finger on, this is because many stones have the ability to raise the vibration of a space. Before you know it you will be picking them up, holding them for hours at a time and carrying them around with you! Thus is their delicious and captivating power!
Shapes...
The shape of a crystal also varies enormously. Clusters or rough cut pieces are great for energising space i.e a home or workplace but not so ideal for example to hold and mediate with. Terminator points (that is polished crystals with a point one or both ends) are brilliant for healing work and for directing energy to another person if they are not feeling well. Cut crystals that have been cut and polished into a particular shape also carry the symbolism of the shape as well as the properties of the stone itself. For example an elephant carved from Aventurine will not only bring harmony and balance to an environment and remind us of the tranquillity of nature, but elephants are considered to be the ‘remover of obstacles’ as well as bringing blessings to a home. An elephant facing a doorway with its trunk raised is a positive and good luck omen to have in a house and will bless all those who cross your threshold!
Pyramid shapes are in a league of their own! Whilst they have been a source of mystery and wonder to us for centuries, they have come to represent an image of deep spiritual significance and one that symbolises immense strength, fortitude and energy. The base of the pyramid represents our foundation and in a sense the physical body, the ascending sides showing our attempts to spiritually ‘aspire’ to the universal point, the apex, where our ascent makes the union with our Higher Self or Higher consciousness. Spiritually, then the Pyramid represents a path towards enlightenment.
The sphere is an ancient and universal symbol that represents unity, wholeness and completion. When carved out of a particular stone, such as banded Agate or Chrysocolla for example, noted for their varied surface markings and variations in colour, it really is like holding the whole universe in your hand! Apart from that a small sphere in your hand when meditating is incredibly tactile to hold!
Finally…My personal guarantees.
I understand that with buying crystals online, there is always a risk factor involved; “Will my crystal look as good as the one in the picture when I get it home?”; “Will its colour be true to the image represented” and so on…
Every single crystal is unique and perfect in its own right. The guarantee I can give you is that when you purchase from my site and the image says “Sold as Seen” or “This is exactly the item you will receive”, then I can assure you that that is EXACTLY the item you will receive. Most of the images have been taken from one angle (some of my more expensive pieces will show multiple images from different angles), however, if you message me personally through the website I have no problem in photographing extra images of the desired crystal so that you are completely sure about your purchase before you make it.
Remember that I have personally chosen every single crystal on my website for its lustre, grade, quality and unique attributes. Each crystal has its own personality and each piece has spoken to me personally before it is welcomed into my shop. I can only offer you my advice, expertise and assistance in choosing the right one for you!
In love and gratitude,
Jacky.
